Introducing Cat® Powered Pump Packages

Barco Pump is now proud to add another industry-leading option to its growing product line: more than 40 different pump packages powered by Cat® industrial engines. The first models launched — the BPP6610CT (6” pump end with a Cat C2.2 engine) and the BPP8812CT (8” pump end with a Cat C3.6 engine) — are already gaining popularity in mining, construction, and landfill applications. And more models are coming, including large-scale packages powered by Cat engines up to the C18 for 16” pump ends.

“Adding Cat engines was a natural step forward,” said Chris Sommer, Executive Vice President of Barco Pump. “We’ve had customers asking for them for years. They trust the Cat name, and now they can get that same reliability in their pump packages — without sacrificing any of the customization we’re known for.”

The road to the new Cat-powered line began several years ago when Barco started testing a limited number of Cat engines in the field. That led to a full engineering partnership with Holt Cat in 2020. Within 18 months, the first two models were launch-ready — a testament to the alignment and agility of both teams.

“These engines and pumps practically packaged themselves,” said Sommer. “Any issue we ran into was quickly solved with a single call. Holt Cat delivered the technical support we needed faster than we thought possible.”

Christopher Cox, engineering representative at Holt Cat, credits Barco Pump’s internal team for the speed and success of the rollout: “They took our engine data and turned it into fully developed product specs at lightning speed. Their ability to execute on innovation is top-tier.”
